The Corbin Strip Uncoiler (CSU-1) is a device designed to feed coiled copper or gilding metal strip to the jacket-making die head mounted on the CHP-1 Hydro-press.

The Corbin Strip uncoiler automatically feeds copper strip from 50 to 150 pound coils in an auto feed to the JMK-2-H jacket maker head. The uncoiler can be used to manually coil or uncoil strip up to .050-inch thickness, and is adjustable from 1/2 to 3 inch strip width. Most strip used for jacket making is 1 to 1.25 inches wide and .030-inches thick.

Some bullet makers use a second CSU-1 to coil up the punched strip (scrap) to package it for salvage.

The controls include manual or automatic feed, a jog button to rotate the coil while holding the button, forward and reverse direction setting, and continuous speed control. The device comes with a standard or self-supporting post with sensors that determine the amount of tension in the strip. When the strip is pulled to a certain tension, the CSU-1 can automatically uncoil just enough additional strip to allow constant just-in-time feeding of material.
