Corbin Airgunner™ Complete Starter Kit

Everything You Need to Start Tuning Your Slugs

You’ve decided to take control of your accuracy.

Now start with everything required to begin — in one complete system.

The Corbin Airgunner™ Complete Starter Kit pairs the purpose-built Airgunner™ Press with 10 pounds of pure lead, Corbin Swage Lube, and a precision Standard Corbin Airgun Die Set in your chosen caliber.

No piecing together components.

No compatibility questions.

No waiting on multiple shipments.

Select your caliber. Start swaging.

What’s Included

  • Corbin Airgunner™ Press: A purpose-built, lightweight precision press engineered specifically for pure lead airgun slug production (.177–.358"). The aluminum frame features integrated wall-mount keyhole slots and ships with T30 Torx mounting lags for compact installation. Designed exclusively for airgun applications, the press provides smooth, consistent forming pressure optimized for lead — not jacketed bullet work. An integrated, patent-pending core cutting system allows horizontal lead insertion and on-press core cutting during the first half of the stroke, streamlining workflow and eliminating the need for a separate cutter.

  • 10 lbs (70,000 grains) of Corbin Pure Lead Rods: High-purity lead optimized for airgun swaging applications. Pure lead provides excellent internal sealing to barrel lands without combustion fouling, superior density for strong external ballistic performance, and reliable terminal expansion at airgun energy levels. The supplied diameter matches the included core cutting die for immediate use.

  • 2 oz Corbin Swage Lube: Specialized swaging lubricant formulated to reduce friction between lead and die walls during forming, without dieseling. Promotes smooth operation, protects die surfaces, and contributes to consistent finished slug quality. Use sparingly.

  • Standard Corbin HP Airgun Die Set: This precision die set is engineered specifically for airgun velocities and stability requirements. Produces hollow point 2S spitzer-style slugs with infinitely adjustable grain weight through punch depth adjustment. All critical geometry is pre-engineered into the standard die, eliminating guesswork. Custom die configurations remain available for specialized barrels (additional cost and lead time apply).

    Available in:

    • .177

    • .217

    • .218

    • .250

    • .300

    • .357

  • Matching Core Cutting Die: Sized specifically to match the included lead rods. Installs directly into the Airgunner™ Press and works in conjunction with the integrated core cutting system. Produces consistent lead cores for uniform projectile weight and repeatable ballistic performance.

  • Core Cutting Trays: Plastic trays designed to hold cut cores, lubricated cores, and staged components during production. Easily removable for cleaning and efficient bench organization. 3D model file will be available for download and custom tray modifications (printer sold separately).

  • Instruction Manual

This system arrives calibrated for compatibility. The included core cutting die is matched to the supplied lead rods, allowing you to begin cutting cores and forming slugs immediately.

How the Airgunner™ Press Works

The Corbin Airgunner™ Press allows you to transform pure lead rods into precision airgun slugs through a streamlined swaging process designed specifically for lead.

Unlike larger firearm presses, the Airgunner™ system integrates core cutting directly into the press. Lead rod is inserted horizontally into the side of the machine, where precision cores are cut during the first half of the press stroke. The second stage of the process forms the finished slug using a Standard Corbin Airgun Die Set.

The result is a compact, efficient workflow that takes you from raw lead to tuned projectile with minimal setup and maximum control.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Corbin Airgunner™ Press Kit

  1. Mount the Press: Secure the Airgunner™ Press to a wall stud using the supplied T30 Torx lags, or install it on a stable bench surface with optional bench stand (releasing soon). Ensure the press is firmly mounted before operation.
  2. Install the Core Cutting Die: If you purchase the kit the die will be installed already, but confirm it is tight to the toggle for a clean cut. This is done by losening the set screw on the front of the press, moving the handle down 45 degrees and pressing the die firmly up against the toggle surface, ensuring a clean cut. This die is matched to the supplied lead rods and prepares uniform cores for consistent slug weights.
  3. Cut Your Lead Cores: Insert the lead rod horizontally into the core cutting station. Operate the handle through the first portion of the stroke to cut a core. For best results, cut cores approximately 3–5 grains heavier than your intended finished weight. Final weight will be adjusted during swaging. Cut cores will drop into the included trays for staging.
  4. Install the Airgun Slug Die: Standard dies have a internal and external punch. Place the internal punch into the center of the ram first, then screw down the die into the ram until completely seated. Then install the external punch into the floating punch holder at the top of the press, but removing the hex nut and inserting the punch, then replacing the hex nut.
  5. Lubricate: Apply a very thin film of Corbin Swage Lube to each core. Apply a small amount to hands, and then grab the core an allow a thin film of swage lube to transfer to the core. Only minimal lubrication is required for pure lead.
  6. Swage the Slug: Insert the lubricated core into the die and operate the press handle fully. The die forms:
      • Hollow point and spitzer-style nose
      • Final diameter

      • Finished weight (based on punch adjustment)

  7. As the handle returns to the upright position, the slug is automatically ejected.

  8. Inspect and Tune: Inspect finished slugs for uniformity. Fine-tune grain weight by adjusting punch depth, make sure to have a grain scale near by:
    • Increase punch depth → heavier slug

    • Decrease punch depth → lighter slug

Small adjustments allow you to tune projectile length, stability, and ballistic performance to your specific airgun. Make sure to never go past the punches limit line (machined into the punch) or you can damage your tooling.

No.

This kit includes the essential components required to cut cores and form finished airgun slugs. You will only need:

  • A secure mounting surface

  • A scale (recommended for precision tuning)

 10 lbs equals 70,000 grains.

Estimated production by grain weight:

  • 18 grain slugs → ~3,888 slugs

  • 25 grain slugs → ~2,800 slugs

  • 34 grain slugs → ~2,058 slugs

  • 50 grain slugs → ~1,400 slugs

Actual yield depends on your chosen grain weight.

Select the die set that matches your airgun’s nominal caliber:

.177 | .217 | .218 | .250 | .300 | .357

If you are unsure of your barrel’s land-to-land bore dimension, contact your airgun manufacturer before ordering, or shoot us an email (sales@corbins.com).

The included core cutting die is matched to the lead rods in the kit.

It installs directly into the Airgunner™ Press and allows you to cut uniform cores before swaging — the starting point for consistent finished slug weights.

Mass-produced slugs are designed for average performance across many rifles.

When you tune:

  • Grain weight

  • Projectile length

  • Stability characteristics

to your specific airgun, accuracy often improves significantly. Many experienced shooters report that slug tuning produces greater gains than gun tuning alone.
